OUR STORY
Welcome to our website
An eternal passion for horses and people that love them brought me Ebba Meehan, here.
How did I get here? Why would it be a good idea to contact me or read more?
My name is Ebba Salvör Meehan and I grew up in the beautiful region of Borgarfjörður on a dairy farm in West Iceland. I was fortunate to grow up in a country that reveres its equestrian culture and maintains the purity of the Icelandic breed. The Icelandic Horse was a constant presence throughout my childhood and horseback riding was something my entire family enjoyed. I guess you can say that it is in my DNA! From working in stables to competing, the Icelandic horse has always been a part of my existence.
I immigrated to America in 2003 when I met my husband and finally purchased my dream property in Boxford, just 30 miles north of Boston. We cleared land, built our barn, planted the pastures, fenced the paddocks, and cut the trails through what is now known Merrimack Valley Icelandics. Abutting our beautiful land is the Spring Tide Farm Equestrian Facility which provides us access to indoor and outdoor arenas; plus conservation land with trails, a lake, and gravel roads.
In addition to the equestrian arts, I have always practiced yoga and after several years of study, I now hold a Kripalu Yoga Instructor Certification and incorporate this skill into my horsemanship teaching. This has been a tremendous asset when it comes to training the body and mind for better riding. . Click here for more info.
